The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses.

A vision insurance policy is not the same as medical insurance. Regular medical health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease.

Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.

Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs.

We are the primary TRICARE provider for eye care in the 20-mile area. Humana Military/TRICARE offers several different health plans.

TRICARE plans that Dr. Cross is a provider for are:
  • TRICARE Prime
  • TRICARE Select
  • TRICARE Reserve Select
  • TRICARE Young Adult
  • TRICARE Standard Active
TRICARE plans that Dr. Cross is not a provider for:
  • Johns Hopkins US Family Health Plan
  • TRICARE Johns Hopkins
  • TRICARE Prime Remote
  • TRICARE Prime Overseas
  • TRICARE Select Overseas
  • TRICARE For Life
  • TRICARE Retired Reserve
  • TRICARE Standard Retired

For active duty military with a current Kimbrough eye glass prescription that is 90 days or less, Dr. Cross will do their contact lens fit without a comprehensive eye exam.
